Hacked Custom Mini-Game

Hacked is a side-scrolling custom UDK level built by me and another producer from FIEA, Fernando Rivera. We had two weeks to create a UDK level. For this level, I scripted the gameplay events, created a custom HUD, and developed a custom mini-game using Scaleform 3.0 in UDK. The mini-game is similar to the hacking mini-game found in BioShock 2. The player must find and hack six distinct terminals to free a group of robot rebels.

Metrics Database System

As part of a Team Game assignment for the Production 2 class at the Florida Interactive Entertainment Academy, we had to track gameplay metrics. Ron Weaver, one of the production faculty at FIEA, wrote an AS3 wrapper that would call a web server and initiate PHP functions. I developed the PHP scripts and slightly modified the AS3 wrapper so that the system could track telemetry per user. The PHP scripts are called from within the Flash game and they update the MySQL database accordingly. I also created a simple Dashboard to view each game’s telemetry.

Castle Adventure

Castle Adventure is a text-based RPG that I made in Python. I completed Castle Adventure for a Scripting Class assignment at the Florida Interactive Entertainment Academy. In Castle Adventure, you will get a completely unique experience each time you play the game. The game includes a text-based map and HUD. The goal is to collect 100 Wizard coins, survive all 16 rooms, and escape the evil Wizard’s Castle.
