About Me

Hello, I am Andrew Bertino and I am a 33-year-old video game developer specializing in production, scripting and design. I received my Masters of Science from the University of Central Florida, attending the Florida Interactive Entertainment Academy (FIEA). Prior to attending UCF, I was a web designer and developer, working on creating marketing systems and websites for a real estate marketing company. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Florida State University with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Information Technology.

At FIEA, I had the opportunity to learn a variety of skills required to be a successful producer in the video game industry. I learned how to script gameplay events, design levels, script UI and even create my own Flash games. I learned how to manage both large and small teams. I’ve worked on projects ranging from two week prototypes to a large scale eight-month development cycle. FIEA also gave me the chance to use industry tools like UDK, Perforce, and Hansoft. I also learned about methodologies and practices commonly used throughout the industry.

Most recently, I completed a four-month internship at Electronic Arts Tiburon in Orlando, FL. I served as Metrics Intern where my primary task was to update and deliver the daily and weekly metrics reports for EA Sports’ online and Facebook titles. I delivered these reports to senior management as well as the marketing and finance teams. I had to work with various members of my team and even across teams to ensure constant data validity. Finally, I updated a telemetry Dashboard adding new charts and other metrics analysis.

With my experiences at EA and FIEA, and having built levels in UDK, scripted gameplay and UI, and managed small and large teams, I feel I am a strong candidate for a variety of positions in the video game industry.
